About Swaziland
The Happy Valley Casino is situated in the lush Ezulwini Valley in central Swaziland, between Mbabane and Matsapha, opposite The Gables Shopping Centre (on the site of the old Why Not Discoteque) and is close to craft markets and many of the most popular tourist spots in Swaziland with several game reserves within easy driving distance.
We are a +-4 hour drive from Johannesburg and Pretoria. The recommended route is via Machadodorp, Badplaas, Oshoek (border post), Mbabane. Then head towards the Ezulwini Valley turnoff (R103). The roads are excellent.
We are about +-1.5 hours from Maputo and +-5 hours from Durban.

Swaziland Airlink, the national airline, offers flights twice a day. Bookings are available through South African Airways. www.flysaa.com
There are also numerous buses and taxis operating from South Africa to Swaziland.
Currency
The Lilangeni (Emalangeni - plural) is on a par with the South African Rand. All shops accept South African Rand for payment (with the exception of coins and old R200 notes). Don't forget to change your Emalangeni back into Rand before you leave the country as South Africa does not accept Swaziland currency.
Visa Requirements
Please ask your embassy for details. There is a new legislation for the requirement of an unabridged birth certificate for children under the age of 18 crossing South African borders as well as additional documentation requirements, again, please ask your embassy for more information. Happy Valley Casino is not in a malaria area.
